QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

How long are cruises?
They can be as short as 2 days or as long as 96 days. Most popular are the 3 and 4 day getaways, and the 7 to 10 day cruises.

Are cruises expensive?
A cruise vacation most likely will give you the most value. Your cruise price will include air from the city of your choice, roundtrip transfers between airport and ship, all meals, all on board entertainment, spectacular shows, on board activities, all port and federal taxes. You are responsible for drinks, shore excursions, personal services, and casino expense.

Do I need a passport?
Not necessarily. You might need only a certified copy of your birth certificate, and a government issued photo ID--drivers license will do. Give us a call and we will let you know the required proof of citizenship for your cruise itinerary.

Can we take the kids?
Absolutely! Most cruise lines have special children's programs and activities, fully supervised by qualified cruise staff members. There can be computer centers, virtual reality activities, separate pools, some special meals, and evening entertainment. In all programs the children are divided by age groups. There is no charge for these programs, but if you need an evening babysitter, it is at your expense.

Will I get seasick?
Probably not. Modern cruise ships have stabilizers, plus more accurate weather information. Medications to prevent motion discomfort are widely available, and can be obtained from the ship doctor.

How do I dress?
During the day, dress is very casual--shorts and tee shirts. Resort wear for casual evenings, a dress or nice pants suit on others, and nice evening dress or cocktail dress for formal night. On most evenings, men can wear casual pants with a nice golf type shirt or a sport coat with no tie. On formal night a dark suit or tuxedo is required. Tuxedos can be rented on board the ship. Swimming suits are NOT allowed in any of the dining areas.

Do I have to eat at a certain time?
No! You will have a designated early or late dining time; however, breakfast and lunch are also served buffet style in a casual setting, so eat at your leisure. Many ships today offer alternative dining with several choices of restaurants. Room service is available 24 hours a day at no additional charge.

What if I become ill while traveling?
All cruise ships have fully staffed and equipped medical facilities. They can handle almost any emergency.

Do I need to tip?
Generally, yes. Some cruise lines include tips in the cruise price. Others have a "tipping not required" policy. However, most cruise lines offer the following guidelines: $2.50 to $3.00 per day per person for the dining room waiter and the cabin steward, $1.50 per day for the busboy. Any special services you receive from other personnel are at your discretion.

How can I plan a cruise?
Just give us a call, or drop us an e-mail. We will find the cruise just right for you.
